The 10in6 Delivery Model

Custom Workflows, Reporting & Alerts

Need a report that doesn't exist yet? A workflow that enforces a specific process step? An alert that fires the moment something goes wrong? 10in6 builds it to match how your operation actually runs.

Why custom matters

Plants run on the reports people actually read

Every plant has one: the report that runs the morning meeting. The one the division manager reads before breakfast. The one that decides where the engineers go today. Canned software never quite produces that report — it produces something close, and "close" means someone rebuilds it in Excel every morning.

10in6 ships with 30+ standard reports, and they cover most daily needs. But the last mile — your KPIs, your layout, your distribution list, your Monday-morning "Big 5 downtime reasons" review — is configured for you, by us. That's the difference between software your team tolerates and reports they'd fight to keep.

Featured use case — Compliance & Traceability

Duty Relief Program traceability and reporting

For Canadian manufacturers operating under the Duty Relief Program, custom reporting connects CBSA transaction data, supplier lots, production batches, scrap, and export records into the four monthly Excel reports needed to support DRP recordkeeping — Diversion, Import Summary, Inventory, and Sales & Export.

FAQ

Reporting & alerts questions

Are custom reports a separate project, or part of the service?
Most report requests are handled through the ongoing service relationship — you tell your 10in6 project manager what you need, and it gets built or adjusted. Larger builds, like a multi-system compliance reporting package, are scoped up front. Either way, you're not left learning a report-builder tool on your own.
Can we build our own reports on top of 10in6 data?
Yes. All production data lives in a structured SQL Server database you can query, the platform integrates tightly with Excel so your team can add its own calculations or download data, and BI tools like Power BI can connect directly. Many customers use 10in6's automated reports for daily operations and their own analysis on top for special projects.
What kinds of conditions can trigger an alert?
Almost anything the system can see: a threshold being crossed, a trend moving toward a limit, a rate of change, or the absence of data — a line that should be reporting but isn't. Alerts deliver by email, SMS, or Andon board, and route to specific people, teams, shifts, or lines.
What happens if nobody responds to an alert?
Escalation rules take over. If an alert goes unacknowledged for a defined period, it escalates to the next person or level you've configured — so a critical condition doesn't die in someone's inbox at 2 a.m.
How fast can a new report or alert be turned around?
It depends on scope, but many requests never become a formal project — your project manager makes the adjustment or points you to an existing report that already does what you need. There are 30+ standard reports out of the box, and customers are often surprised how much is already there.
